God Space SYW 2007

	SYW 2007 was held July 9-14 at the University of Tulsa

	In 2007 we used the GodSpaceSYW.com design as a backdrop as we explored the "You're blessed..." verses in Matthew 5 (the beatitudes). The planning team and staff launched this website that year as a theme and celebration of 50 years of SYW. The domain name is meant to be the permanent home of Synod Youth Workshop online. Truly that special week each year really is God's Space where there is a place for everyone. PHOTO: Small groups are the heart of SYW experience. 	A special Friend Request is waiting for you at Synod Youth Workshop 2007! Don’t miss it as we login and discover who is really there for us 24/7. We’ll explore the words of Jesus from Matthew 5 and find out when we are blessed in God’s eyes. We’ll also explore questions like: Is online friendship enough when it comes to a relationship with God? Or with others? Who can be trusted in the cyber-world? If God had a MySpace, what would it look like? Just think how many people God’s Friend Space must have in it! Don’t miss SYW 2007 where we will experience connections to God and to one another that are much deeper than cyber space can offer. 	July 9 - Monday Friend Request Waiting! See us gathered with our small groups. Small Groups at SYW. You’re blessed when you’re content with just who you are – no more, no less. That’s the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can’t be bought. Matthew 5:5 July 10 - Tuesday Can't Be Too Care-Full Do you know where your 330 children and adults are?... out doing hands-on mission projects in the city of Tulsa! (Service Projects: S ee 81 photos now.) You’re blessed when you care. At the moment of being ‘care-full,’ you find yourselves cared for. Matthew 5:7 July 11 - Wednesday God's Profile Picture/God's Image You’re blessed when you get your inside world – your mind and heart – put right. Then you can see God in the outside world. Matthew 5:8		July 12 - Thursday Crazy But Not Alone: Becoming God’s Troublemaker’s You’re blessed when your commitment to God provokes persecution. The persecution drives you even deeper into God’s kingdom. Not only that – count yourselves blessed every time people put you down or throw you out or speak lies about you to discredit me. What it means is that the truth is too close for comfort and they are uncomfortable. You can be glad when that happens – give a cheer, even! – for though they don’t like it, I do! And all heaven applauds. And know that you are in good company. My prophets and witnesses have always gotten into this kind of trouble. Matthew 5:10-12 July 13 - Friday God’s Peace-Full (filled?) Family You’re blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That’s when you discover who you really are, and your place in God’s family. Matthew 5:9 SATURDAY MORNING - Everyone loaded up and left. Good byes were said with any with tears and lots of hugs.
